Strand woven bamboo decking/wall cladding is new compare to WPC and traditional wood decking. Some customers may even hear of this product at the first time and are not familiar with it.Let’s briefly introduce the differences among bamboo and WPC and wood.
Firstly, let’s introduce the different impacts on the environment. Bamboo takes 5 years to become useful material. This means a lot to global resource sustainability. WPC is made from raw plastic and sawdust. And it requires petroleum, which is a limited resource. The recycling of WPC is very hard. For solid wood, the growth circle of hardwood is 40-100 years, which is not eco-friendly.
The second difference is toughness. The density of bamboo decking is 1.15-1.2g/cm³. The impact toughness is more than 17320N high density. For WPC, because of its production method, WPC is fragile, liable to fracture, and has low impact resistance. For wood decking, only high-class hardwood has high density, but because of its long growth time, the hardwood is getting rarer and rarer.
For the service life, bamboo decking and wall cladding usually serve 30 years under conditions of regular maintenance. The service time is longer than WPC and solid wood decking.
