Bamboo decking is also called strand woven bamboo flooring. It has been a normal material for outdoor construction projects. Chartered with durability, stability, natural texture, and outstanding outlook, bamboo decking becomes the first choice for many builders and users.

When choosing a decking to accompany a project, it is important to know which option is the best choice for the sites. Some customers look into bamboo decking but find out that there are two kinds of colors. To whom know bamboo decking in the beginning will be confused about the difference between brown bamboo decking and dark bamboo decking. To make clear the difference, here we will clarify it for you.

REBO has been in the industry of strand woven bamboo decking and wall cladding for more than 10 years, awarding certificates of ISO9001, ISO14001, FSC, etc. Our strand woven bamboo products have passed the EU standard testing of durability class 1, use class 4, reaction to fire Bf1-S1, slip resistance R10, modulus of elasticity in bending 18700N/mm2, etc. REBO also distinguishes the bamboo decking by M series (brown decking) and D series (dark decking)

Brown decking (M series) is also called medium carbonized bamboo decking. It is made through 160 ℃ carbonization temperature under high heat pressure. The carbonization removes the sugar, worm eggs, and nutrient inside bamboo. Through a unique drying process, the bamboo decking is controlled in good moisture content, ensuring to suit the outdoor environment better. Brown decking is popular by its natural color and good decoration function. Because there is little nutrient remaining inside bamboo, the fungi may grow after six months under heat and humid weather, so it requires twice maintenance per year to keep bamboo decking in good condition.

Dark decking (D series) is called deep carbonized bamboo decking. It is made through ultra-high temperature 220 ℃ extreme heat carbonization, which makes sure the fungus, worm egg, and nutrients totally removed. Dark decking can suit extreme weather better outdoors and is featured super mothproof, anti-corrosion, and anti-mildew effects. Dark color decorates the outdoor garden gracefully and magnificently. For extreme hot or cold areas, we suggest applying dark decking as a priority.

To summarize, dark decking is treated at a higher temperature during production than brown decking. This results in the different colors and fungi resistance of bamboo decking panels. Brown decking is popular for its natural color and good decoration function; dark decking is welcomed by its super stability and durability in extreme weather.
REBO bamboo advocates green, environmental protection, and health concepts. We will always take the mission of making better strand woven bamboo panels to save more forests and reduce ecological resource consumption.
